YP is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant – Accounting in Glendale, CA. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller of IT & Technology. S/he will be an experienced Finance professional with proven technical skills in accounting and reporting, and with the ability to work across constituencies. This position is responsible for maintaining accounting policy as well as providing technical accounting entries.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing process including:

o Perform and upload journal entries into Oracle

o Gather & maintain supporting documentation

o Research transactions

o Perform analytics on variances

• Assist in the completion of monthly account reconciliations

• Research, code and ensure accurate posting of invoices to A/P system

• Assist in the maintenance of controls and year-end audit

• Track various categories of expenses as needed

• Assist in update and maintenance of accounting policy manual

• Review of system transactions and perform the appropriate accounting corrections or adjustments

• Participate in or perform ad-hoc projects as needed

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate for our Staff Accountant – Accounting will have a proven history of high proficiency in core competencies, experience and education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA or the pursuit of such certification preferred

• Experience with fixed assets and internally developed software a plus

• Two to three years of experience with accounting and financial reporting

• Strong technical skills and ability to streamline accounting best practices

• Working knowledge of US GAAP as applied to a public company

• Ability to problem solve and analyze events/transactions

• Ability to multi-task and work overtime as necessary to complete projects and meet deadlines

• Organized and detail oriented.

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision

• Strong written, verbal and quantitative skills

• Advanced Excel skills a must and exposure to Oracle a plus
