As we were Selling a car on Craigslist a man emailed saying he was interested in it but wanted the VIN report for his loan officer so he could guarantee he would qualify. We followed through with the request from the site he requested and sent him the report. Later when we went to look at the pdf link the report was sent in, the link and the website we had used did not exist. We attempted to reach out to the company (a title report) and received error messages via email. When we cancelled the purchase with our credit card company and disputed the charge we received an email from a new company (global vin reports) telling us to stop disputing the charge. When looking the company up on WhoIs.net we realized their website was just recently created after the demise of the first site/after our purchase was made.
