Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Received a check for $2400, told me to deposit into my account, go to Walmart and buy $2000 worth of gift cards, evaluate the employee and experience, open the pack, scratch off label to reveal code at back of card and capture a clear image of front and back of each card and email them to the email provided. Under no circumstance let the employee know what you’re doing. Said to keep $350 of the money after purchasing as my pay. Said once I’ve done this, to contact [email protected], (David Schmidt is his name), to fill out questionnaire after assignment
